Devotion of the day: the practice of the inner life

Do you know her? Not only does the body have its life; also the heart, with regard to God, has a life of its own, called interior, of sanctification, of union with God; with it the soul tries to enrich itself with virtues, merits, celestial love, with the same care with which the worldly seeks the riches, joys and pleasures of the world. It is the life of the Saints, whose study all consists in reforming and embellishing one's heart to unite it to God. Do you know this life?

Do you practice it? The essence of the interior life lies in detachment from earthly goods and in the recollection of nothingness and of the heart, compatibly with the duties of the state. It is a continuous application to practice humility, to give up on ourselves; it is doing all things, even the most common, for the love of God; it is continually yearning .1 God with the Ejaculatory, with the offerings to God with the conformation to His holy will. What do you do with all this?

Peace of inner life. The baptism received obliges us to the lower life. The examples of Jesus who lived hidden for thirty years and who sanctified every action of his public life with prayer, with offering to His Father, with seeking His glory, are an invitation for us to imitate him. Furthermore, the interior life makes us calm in our actions, resigned to sacrifices, it gives peace of heart even in tribulations… Don't you want to take this path?

PRACTICE. - Live in union with God, acting, not at random, but with virtuous ends and glory to Him.
