Devotion of the day: the tears of the Child Jesus

Baby Jesus weeps. Put yourself in silence at the feet of Jesus: listen ...: He weeps ... Hurry, lift him up; the cold numbs Him, and suffers! Does He complain of His sad state? ... No, no; all voluntary is His suffering; and he could suddenly stop it if he wanted to. He weeps for your sins; he weeps to appease with his cries, the anger of the Father; weeps over our ingratitude and indifference. Oh mystery of Jesus' tears! Don't you feel compassion for Him?

Tears of repentance. Throughout life, we cry and who knows how many times!… We find tears for pain and joy, for hope and fear: we find tears for envy, anger, whim: sterile or guilty tears. Have you found a single tear of pain for your sins, for having offended Jesus? The Magdalene, St. Augustine found it very sweet to cry for their sins… How would Jesus be consoled if you promised never to offend him again!

Tears of love. If you don't have real tears for a God, sovereign, lover, for an abandoned Baby Jesus, who wails and cries for you, don't be stingy with spiritual tears, sighs, outbursts of love, desires, sacrifices, promises. to be all of Jesus. Love him and He will smile at you. Love Him instead of so many who forget Him, who blaspheme Him! Comfort him with prayers, with offering yourself victim for the sins of others ... Can't you console the crying Child in this way?
