Devotion of the day: motherhood of the Virgin Mary

Let us rejoice with Mary. Mary is the true Mother of God. What a thought! What a mystery! What greatness for Mary! She is not the mother of a king, but of the King of kings; he does not command the sun, but rather the Creator of the sun, of the world, of the universe… Everything obeys God; yet, Jesus the Man obeys a Woman, a Mother, Mary ... God does not owe anything to anyone; yet, Jesus God owes, as Son, gratitude to Mary who nourished him… He rejoices for this ineffable privilege of Mary.

We trust in Mary. Although Mary is so sublime that everything is divine, Jesus gave her to you as a mother; and she welcomed you as a very dear son to her womb. Jesus called her mother, and he behaved with her with all familiarity; you too can say to her with good reason: My Mama, you can confide your pains to her, you can stay with her in holy talks, sure that she listens to you, loves you and thinks of you ... O dear Mother, how not to trust in you!

We love Maria. Mary, as a very vigilant mother, what does she not do for the health of your body and soul? You remember well the graces received, the prayers answered, the clear tears, the comforts obtained through her; unjust, lukewarm, sinful, he never abandoned you, he will never abandon you. How do you thank her? When do you pray to her? How do you console her? She asks you for the flight from sin and the practice of virtue: do you obey her?
