Devotion of the day: let's take the example of Baby Jesus

Hard bed of the Child Jesus. Consider Jesus, not already in the extreme hour of His Life, nailed to the hard bed of the Cross; but look at him when he is born, tender Baby. Where does Mary put it? On a bit of straw ... The soft feathers where the tender limbs of a newborn rest for fear of suffering are not for Him; Jesus loves, and chooses the straw: does he not feel the piercings? Yes, but he wants to suffer. Do you understand the mystery of suffering?

Our repugnance to suffering. A natural inclination pushes us to enjoy and to avoid everything that is a reason for us to suffer. Hence, always seeking our comforts and conveniences, our taste, our satisfaction; then a continuous complaining of every little thing: the heat, the cold, the duty, the food, the clothes, the relatives, the superiors, everything bores us. Don't we do this all day? Who knows how to live without complaining about God, or about men, or about himself?

Baby Jesus falls in love with suffering. Innocent Jesus, without being obliged to do so, wanted to suffer from the Cradle to the Cross; and, right from the infancy, he tells us; o Look how I suffer ... And you, my brother, my disciple, will you always try to enjoy? Do you want to suffer nothing, not even the slightest tribulation without complaining, for the love of me? You know that I do not know as my follower if not who carries the cross with me… “, What are you proposing? Don't you promise to use patience like Jesus on straw?

PRACTICE. - Recite three Pater to Jesus; be patient with everyone.
