Devotion of the day: recite the Magnificat, please someone

The bands are chains for Jesus. Look at the Virgin Mother; as soon as Jesus is born, she adores Him and holds Him to her breast; but soon, away from the cold. He wraps him in poor clothes. He stretches His feet, compresses His weak hands and squeezes Him between the bands. Jesus obedient, submissive, does not open his mouth; already, the chains, the ropes of Gethsemane, of Calvary appear in his mind, and he accepts everything with Love. The sashes were, therefore, a symbol of the Charity that united Him to us to save us. Sweet chains of Love, when will you unite me to Jesus?

Charity of Jesus with us. Consider the miserable state of the sinful man. For a single mortal sin, he becomes a slave of the devil and dying, the eternal chains of Lucifer are for him. Jesus, that same God who condemned the Angels to Hell for one sin, spare us, poor sinners! He chooses for himself the swaddling clothes, the chains, the torments, the death; but you want us saved in Heaven. O Goodness, O Charity of God, how can I thank you worthily? How will I know how to reciprocate you?

Charity of us with the neighbor. After the examples and the command of Jesus, we should be linked to our neighbor with the bonds of fraternal charity. But what is our Charity in suspicions, in judgments, in speaking of our neighbor? What is our willingness to benefit everyone? Where is forgiveness to those who are ungrateful to us, to those who harm us? Where is our patience with troublesome people? .., imitate Jesus, who was all charity; you be with others.

PRACTICE. - Recite the Magnificat; makes someone a pleasure.
