Today's devotion: be faithful to God's grace

Excellence of this divine gift. Grace, that is, that help from God that enlightens our minds on what we must do or flee, and moves the will to obey God, while it is a free gift that we cannot deserve, it is so necessary to us that, without of it, we can neither save ourselves, nor say Jesus, nor do the least thing worthy of Paradise. What estimate do you have of grace? Sin, don't you throw it away for a trifle? ...

Fidelity to grace. I have to be faithful to her out of gratitude. God, with grace, enlightens me, touches my heart, invites me, urges me for my good, for love of me, in view of Jesus Christ. Will I want to make so much love of God useless for me? - But I still have to be faithful to her for interest. If I listen to the movements of grace, I save myself; if I oppose it, I am not saved. You understand it? In the past, have you obeyed the stimuli of grace?

Infidelity to grace. God gives it to whoever he wants and according to the time and measure he wants; calls Ignatius to holiness from a bed where he lay; calls Antonio to church, during a sermon; St. Paul on a public road: happy they listened to him. Judas, also He, was called after his betrayal; but he rejected grace and God abandoned him!… How many times grace calls you either to change your life, or to greater perfection, or to some good work; are you faithful to such calls?

PRACTICE. - A Pater, Hail and Glory to the Holy Spirit: if God asks you for a sacrifice, don't refuse.
