Practical devotion: knowing the name God

The glory of God. What must you desire on this earth? What should you look for and what should you pray for? Maybe to be well, or to be rich and happy? Perhaps to have a soul full of graces to satisfy your self-love? Aren't these your prayers?
The Pater reminds you that God, as he created you for his glory, that is, to know him, love him and serve him, so he wants you to ask him first. Everything goes, but God triumphs.

The sanctification of God. Most holy as God is, no creature will ever be able to add to him intrinsic holiness; sure, but, apart from himself, he can receive greater glory. All creation, in its language, sings the praises of God and gives him glory. And you, in your pride, do you seek the honor of God or yours? The triumph of God or that of self-love? Let him be sanctified, that is, no longer profaned, mocked, blasphemed with words or deeds, by me and by others; may he be known, adored, loved by all in every place and every moment. Is this your wish?

Your name. It is not said: May God be sanctified, but rather his name, so that you remember that, if you have to glorify even the name alone, much more the person, the majesty of God. why do you repeat it so many times just out of habit? God's name is holy. If you understood its greatness and kindness, with what affection you would say: My God! When you mean blasphemies against God-Jesus, show your disapproval by saying, at least mentally: praise be Jesus Christ.

PRACTICE. - Recite five Pater for blasphemers.
