Practical devotion of the day: avoid all hypocrisy

Hypocrisy is a lie.

Not only with words, but also with works are hypocrites, simulating what is not, before men; but God cannot be deceived. You go to church for esteem; go to the sacraments to be seen; you simulate goodness of life, while in secret you release your passions; pretend obedience, love, sweetness, while the interior is gall, livor, anger, murmur. Hypocrite, your life is a lie! Don't you feel the conscience that scolds you?

Hypocrisy is electrocuted by Jesus.

He, all kindness and sweetness with all sorts of sinners, electrocuted the Pharisee hypocrites who simulated virtue, zeal, accuracy only to earn the praise of the good: o; Verily, you are not waiting for more mercy. " And already the Holy Spirit had said that the hypocrite is hated by God: "Woe to the double heart, to the face of two faces, to the simulating tongue, to the deceiving spirit". Lying is completely opposite to God, Truth by essence. Are you simple or hypocrite?

Damage to hypocrisy.

The lesser evil that follows from it is to lose all merit of good works, performed not for the glory of God, but for an unrighteous end. The hypocrite, accustomed to doing the holiest things with indifference, with sin in heart, now betrays Jesus as Judas, in approaching the Sacraments, now as the Jews he loves her as a prank king, praying him. Such a way of working draws the curse of God upon the hypocrite.
