Practical devotion of the day: making good use of the word

It was given to us to pray. Not only the heart and the spirit must adore God, also the body must join to give glory to its Lord. Language is the instrument for raising the hymn of love and confidence to God. Therefore vocal prayer accompanied by the attention of the heart is the knot of union of soul and body to adore, bless, and thank God the creator of both. Think about it: the tongue was not given to you only to speak, not to sin, but to pray ... What are you doing?

There was no date to harm others. The tongue speaks as the heart dictates it; with it we must manifest the virtues of the soul, and we can draw others to good. Therefore, do not use your tongue to deceive others with lies, or to scandalize them with immodest words, with detractions, with murmurs, or to offend them with insults, with harsh or stinging words, or to irritate them with harsh words, it is abuse, not good use of the language. Yet who is not guilty of it?

It was given to us for our own benefit and that of others. With the tongue we must accuse our sins, ask for advice, seek spiritual instruction for the salvation of the soul. For the benefit of others, most of the works of spiritual charity are carried out with the tongue; with it we can correct those who make mistakes and exhort others to do good. Yet how many times does he work to ruin us and others! What does your conscience tell you?
