Practical devotion of the day: overcome temptation

In themselves they are not sins. Temptation is a test, an obstacle, a melting pot of virtue. A pommel that attracts your throat, a thought that passes through your mind, an impure assault that invites you to evil, in themselves are indifferent things. Provided one million temptations are not allowed, they do not form a single venial sin. In temptations, what comfort does such reflection bring! What courage inspires them. especially if we turn to Jesus and Mary.

2. They are proofs of virtue. How wonderful that the Angels remained faithful if they weren't tempted? that Adam remained faithful, if nothing proved his virtue? What merit do you have if you keep yourself humble, patient, fervent, when everything goes according to you? Temptation is the touchstone; in it, with constancy, with resisting, with fighting, we give a sign to God that ours is true virtue. And you get discouraged, or worse, give up because it is difficult to win ?! Where's your worth?

3. They are sources of merit. The vile soldier, in difficulties, throws down his arms and flees; the brave, on the field, girds the crown of glory. With temptation, the devil would like to lose you: if instead of being discouraged, you humble yourself to the Lord, trust in him, pray to him for help, you will try to fight with all your strength, protest to God that you will not abandon him at any cost, you want to be his, always: how many merits you can earn! Will you still complain about temptations?

PRACTICE. - Pray to St. Michael to fight with you; recites nine Gloria in honor of the Angels.
