Practical devotion: we imitate angels

God's will in Heaven. If you contemplate the material sky, the sun, the stars with their equal, constant motions, this alone would be enough to teach you with what exactness and perseverance you must fulfill the will and orders of God. You go in fits and starts: you spend a day as a saint, and the other as a sinner; today all fervor, tomorrow lukewarm; today diligence, tomorrow disorder. If that is your life, you must feel ashamed of yourself. Look at the sun: learn constancy in divine service

God's will in Heaven. What is the occupation of the Saints? They do the will of God. Their will is transformed so much into that of God that it is no longer distinguished. Happy with their own enjoyment, they do not envy others, indeed they cannot even desire it, because God wills it so. No longer one's own will, but only the divine triumphs up there; then the quiet, the peace, the harmony, the happiness of paradise. Why does your heart have no peace down here? Because in it lies one's selfish will.

Let's imitate the Angels. If on earth the will of God cannot be fulfilled perfectly as in Heaven, at least let us try to get close; it is the same God who deserves it well. The Angels perform it without question, very promptly. And you with how much repugnance do you do it?… How many times do you transgress the orders of God and of superiors? The Angels do it for pure love of God. And you do it out of vainglory, out of whim, out of interest!

PRACTICE. - Be very obedient today to God and to men, for the love of God; recites three Angele Dei.
