Devotions: guide to consecrate the family to Mary

GUIDE FOR THE CONSECRATION OF FAMILIES
TO THE IMMACULATE HEART OF MARY
“I want all Christian families to consecrate themselves to my Immaculate Heart: I ask that the doors of all houses be opened to me, so that I may enter and place my maternal home among you. I come as your Mother, to live with you and participate in your whole life ". (Message from the heavenly Mother)

WHY CONSECRATE THE FAMILY TO THE IMMACULATE HEART OF MARY?
For each family that welcomes her and consecrates herself to her, Our Lady does what the best, the most wise, the most caring, the richest of mothers can do and, especially, she brings her Son Jesus!
Welcoming Mary into one's home means welcoming the Mother who saves the family

ACT OF CONSECRATION OF THE FAMILY TO THE IMMACULATE HEART OF MARY
Immaculate Heart of Mary,
we, filled with gratitude and love, immerse ourselves in you and ask you to give us a heart similar to yours to love the Lord, to love you, to love each other and to love our neighbor with your own Heart.
You, Mary, have been elected by God the Mother of the Holy Family of Nazareth.
Today we, consecrating ourselves to you, ask you to be the special and very sweet Mother of this family of ours that we entrust to you.
Each of us relies on you, today and forever.
Make us as you want us, make us the joy of God: we want to be a sign in our environment, a testimony of how beautiful and happy it is to be all yours!
This is why we ask you to teach us to live the virtues of Nazareth in our home: humility, listening, availability, confidence, trust, mutual help, love and free forgiveness.
Guide us every day to listen to the Word of God and make us ready to put it into practice in all the choices we make, as a family and individually.
You who are the source of grace for all the families of the earth, you who received from the Holy Spirit the maternal mission of forming, with Saint Joseph, the family of the Son of God, come to our house and make it your home!
Stay with us as you did with Elizabeth, work in us and for us as in Cana, take us today and forever, as your children, as the precious inheritance that Jesus left you.
From you, O Mother, we await every help, every protection, every material and spiritual grace,
because you know our needs well, in every field, and we are sure that we will never miss anything with you! In the joys and sorrows of life, every day, we count on your maternal goodness and your presence that works wonders!
Thank you for this gift of the Consecration that unites us more intimately to God and to you.
You also offer the Lord the renewal of the baptismal promises we make today.
Make us true children, beyond our fragility and our weakness that we put in your Heart today: transform everything in strength, in courage, in joy!
Receive them all together in your arms, O Mother, and give us the certainty that walking with you for all the days of our life, together with you we will also be in Heaven, where you, holding hands, will present us to the throne of God.
And our heart, in yours, will be eternally happy! Amen.

THE RENEWAL OF BAPTISMAL PROMISES
We consecrate ourselves to the Immaculate Heart of Mary to make Jesus live in us, as the Holy Spirit made him live in her from the moment of the Annunciation. Jesus came to us with Baptism. With the help of the heavenly Mother we live our Baptismal Promises to make Jesus live and grow in us. Therefore let us renew them with lively faith, on the occasion of our Consecration.

One of the family says:
I believe in God, Almighty Father, creator of heaven and earth.
And you believe?
Everyone: We believe.
I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord, who was born of the Virgin Mary, died and was buried, rose from the dead, and sits at the right hand of the Father. And you believe?
Everyone: We believe.
Do you renounce sin, to live in the freedom of the children of God?
Everyone: Let's give up.
Do you renounce the seductions of evil, in order not to let yourself be dominated by sin?
Everyone: Let's give up.
Let us pray: Almighty God, Father of our Lord Jesus, who has freed us from sin and made us be born again from the water and the Holy Spirit, guard us with His grace in Jesus Christ our Lord, for eternal life.
Everyone: Amen.
