did you know that the gospel is a book that breathes? by Viviana Maria Rispoli

gospel of the day

Yes, the Gospel but also the whole Bible is not at all a normal book, or just a beautiful book where the story of God and his people is told, but it is a living book that breathes the breath of God. That it is a book I am not alive to say it but Jesus himself who says "my words are Spirit and Life" This means that every word we read mysteriously brings us Life, mysteriously brings us that Spirit who gave birth to all things, that Spirit that knows ourselves more than we know each other Opening and starting to read the Gospel is like being immediately in the presence of God who speaks to our soul in that deepest and most unfathomable place we have and which is so hidden even from ourselves that it can be reached only by him. He finally in that mysterious place can now speak to our heart, he can enlighten us, he can scold us with an authority to shake your foundations, he can lift you to incredible heights of understanding simply because he loves you and wants to take you on a dance tour in the skies. It can give you an immediate peace more powerful than many drops of valium as it happened to me in a moment of great agitation that I am enchanted by reading only these words "On my people I will say be peace" or it can call you to change your life in an instant and to understand in an instant that everything you want to leave just to follow him, this also happened to me only through his word. Reading that wonderful book I understood that for everyone in that book there is the liveliest word of all that changes the life of every man.
