God helps us respond to adolescent hardships

One of the most important and complex challenges, a void that only Jesus, together with families, can fill. Adolescence is a delicate phase of life, in which children experience hormonal changes, a lot of conflicting emotions and a change in social relationships. The psychological discomforts into which young people fall are constantly growing.
Teenagers find it hard to deal with worries and anxieties, in fact today we tend to hide the growing discomfort.
The expressions of adolescent malaise can be different, in relation to personality characteristics and to different social, school and family contexts. In the hospital, what is constantly increasing are hospitalizations for attempted suicide. The
experts speak of a psychiatric emergency, in pre-adolescence and adolescence. Many of these young people develop suicidal ideas, they want to end it.

Among the disorders we have the depressive ones, the bipolar ones, those of conduct but also Covid-19 and lockdown are creating a lot of stress, due to forced isolation. We need to recreate a community made up of real, healthy, concrete human relationships, which walk together towards a common horizon, towards a joy that is not such when it is not shared. As Pope Francis says: we must face the causes of evil from the beginning and root out indifference. There is a need to return to Christ, to faith in Him and in His merciful and redemptive work for the life of each one. Without the Lord, in fact, every effort is in vain, and only He is capable of truly healing the wounds of
our heart. If young people cannot find the answers in the face of evil, it is the task of adults, educators and
communities offer satisfactory solutions and proposals that invite a shared journey. We must rediscover true love for neighbor and for life, the same love that the Lord has given us so that we can make the best use of it to carry out His work and witness the coming of His kingdom to this land.
