Don Pistolesi died in a car accident, the whole Church is crying

Drama yesterday afternoon, Wednesday 1 December, on the Poetto seafront, in the Cagliari area, in Sardinia.

A 42-year-old priest, Don Alberto Pistolesi, died. He was the parish priest of the church of Santa Barbara a sinnai since 2018 and had held positions in parishes a Cagliari e Quartu Sant'Elena, in addition to having directed the diocesan office for youth ministry.

La Fiat Multipla that the parish priest was driving crashed into a pole supporting the structure of the road information boards in viale del Golfo, in the stretch of the Poetto in the territory of Quartu Sant'Elena, near the bathing establishment 'Il Lido del carabiniere'.

The front of the car that went off the road was completely deformed in the collision and the priest was trapped in the cockpit. The 118 rescuers could only ascertain the death.

A fire brigade team intervened on the spot. The surveys are entrusted to the local police officers of Quartu Sant'Elena.

There will be two funeral rites to greet Don Alberto Pistolesi. A funeral mass will be celebrated in the parish of Santa Barbara in Sinnai, the other in Quartu before the burial of the body in the cemetery of Quartu.
