Allison's family

Who knows if you can really resign yourself to the death of a loved one, if you can find the peace and strength to carry on.

When a loved one passes away, it always leaves a void that can't be filled, but there are some deaths you just can't explain. This is the case of a woman whose death is still unanswered.

Allison lived in Nova Scotia, with her husband Gunther Holthoff and 3 beautiful children. Allison loved to ride horses and long before the tragic day, she fell off her horse. Since then, she always felt some little pain.

Precisely for this reason, when he woke up one morning with a stomach ache, he didn't give it much weight. She considered taking a hot bath to ease the pain, but she got worse and when her children found her on the floor by the tub, they were alarmed and warned her father.

Without waiting for help, which would have taken hours to reach them, Gunther loaded her into the car and drove to the  Cumberland Regional Health Care Center in Amherst.

The ordeal of the young woman in the emergency room

Arriving at the emergency room, Gunther tried to place the woman in a wheelchair while they waited, but Allison, too in pain, preferred to squat on the floor in the fetal position. Although the man tried to warn staff that his wife was getting worse, the only thing he could get was a blood and urine test.

Allison continued to feel bad, until she started rolling her eyes back and screaming in agony. Only then later 7 hours and endless questions, a nurse decided to take his blood pressure. When he realized the situation he was immediately given an IV with painkillers, an electrocardiogram and x-rays.

Shortly thereafter, Allison walks in cardiac arrest and Gunther of that excited moment, only remembers the comings and goings of doctors and nurses, who tried to revive her 3 times until they declared her dead.

One of the doctors, showing theechography to the man he explained that his wife had ainternal bleeding and that there would be only a 1% chance of keeping her alive with an operation. But she Allison had lost too much blood and if she survived she still wouldn't have had a normal and dignified life.

After 2 weeks from death, the man is still waiting to receive the autopsy results that give answers to this story and clarify the reason for the death of the young Allison.

It seems that an investigation is still underway to shed light on what happened.
