After teenage cancer they became parents as if by a miracle

This is the story of a couple Chris Berns and Laura Hunter 2 parents, who fought the same battle against cancer in their adolescence and to whom fate has given the most beautiful of gifts. The two young people surprisingly managed to become Parents.

Chris and Laura meet at an event for teenage cancer survivors. In fact, both have experienced the trauma of having to fight very young against the most terrible of diseases.

Usually, in the case of cancer of childbearing age, patients are advised to freeze eggs and sperm as chemotherapy could lead to infertility.

Unfortunately, in the case of the 2 young people, this possibility could not be given, as the chemotherapy had to be started immediately, given their young age and the aggressiveness of the cancer.

Chris and Laura: parents almost by a miracle

This disease put them to the test and led them to experience dark moments, dragging them into the darkest places.

The journey of Chris against cancer began when the young man was just 17 years old. He was diagnosed with a Sarcoma affecting the tissue around the bones. Time and her illness had temporarily paralyzed him. Only after 14 chemo sessions did she start walking again and improve.

Laura meanwhile, at just 16 he fought against a lymphoblastic leukemia acute, a type of blood cancer, cured after 30 months of chemo.

But fate, having struck the hardest of blows, has rewarded the young people with the sweetest of gifts.

After trying to become parents for two years with little success, the couple was about to give up, when suddenly the miracle, Laura is expecting a baby girl. The birth of Willow and the joy of becoming parents has rewarded the boys for all their suffering. Both would be willing to face it all over again, in order to be able to experience the moment of the birth of their child.
