The man who wanted to quit smoking

One day a man decided it was time to quit smoking and to offer this small sacrifice to Padre Pio. So every day, starting from the first, in the evening, at the end of the day, he stopped in front of Padre Pio with the pack of cigarettes in his hand, telling him the first day is gone, the second day he did the same thing, repeating the same phrase and etc. After 3 months decides to go to Padre Pio. When he arrived he told him satisfied that they were 81 days who didn't touch a cigarette. Padre Pio looked at him and replied that he knew, because every evening he made him count the packages.

The vehicle driver

One day a coach driver, carrying tourists on a trip to the Gargano, stops at Padre Pio's sacristy. The driver was among a group of people who had already gone to confession. Padre Pio looks at the man, points to him and asks him why he hadn't asked for the blessing. The man replied that he had already done it a short time ago Monte Sant'Angelo. When Padre Pio asks him after that confession what he had done. The man retraces the memory of the events but forgets the purchase of the crunchy.

Padre Pio at that point tells him that after the confession, he had cursed for the number of kibbles purchased that did not correspond to the requested number. Furthermore, in traveling the road to reach San Giovanni Rotondo, he had I railed against a carter who did not keep to the right. At that moment the man, mortified, began to recite the act of pain.

The story of figs

One day a lady ate a few too many figs and felt guilty for having committed a crime sin of gluttony. So he decided to go to San Giovanni Rotondo and confess to Padre Pio. During her confession, however, the woman forgot the episode and she told the friar that she wanted to confess something else, but she no longer remembered what. Padre Pio smiling said to him "let's go, for two figs!"
