It was the 1920 when a man, an unrepentant one, comes before the Padre Pio, certainly not to ask for forgiveness, like all the other faithful. Belonging to a criminal clan, the man had decided to get rid of his wife to be able to be with another woman. He wanted kill her and at the same time get an alibi. So knowing that the woman was devoted to a friar who lived in a small village in the Gargano, she decided to convince her to reach that place with him. It was the ideal place to carry out his murderous plan, since no one knew him there.

Once in Puglia, the man leaves his wife in a boarding house and goes to the convent to collect the confession reservations, so when the woman goes to the friar, he will go to the village, make himself known and build his alibi. The plan calls for the man to go to aTavern, you invite strangers to drink and play cards, with an excuse he will leave and commit the murder. Around the convent it is dark and there is nothing. The plan was well thought out, but the man could never imagine that while he was planning, someone was able to to listen. Arrived at the convent to collect the reservations, he is attacked by the impulse to confess, so he kneels before Padre Pio. Exhausted, but finally free, the man asks for forgiveness. Padre Pio forgives him and tells him that his wish to have a child will come true. The man returns to Padre Pio the following year, completely converted and father of a son from the same wife he wanted to kill.
