Faith is believing in God and in yourself

Too many times we limit ourselves, too many times we are satisfied and wait. We wait for things to change by themselves and we drag ourselves into uncomfortable situations or relationships that maybe make us suffer. In life it often happens that you have to decide to close important chapters due to numerous human, psychological, intimate and even spiritual factors. Acting logically is not easy; in certain situations you have to deal with your soul. In reality it would be enough to cut the dead branches to free us, to feel new energies and feel able to face life differently, making it full of new purposes. Let yourself die for altruism, I don't think it's too Christian a choice. In fact, Christianity teaches us precisely respect for ourselves, accompanied by that of others. No one should ever be allowed to trample on the dignity of people, take advantage of the good of individuals at will, perhaps only for a gain.

When this happens, we must gather all our strength and first of all assert the love for ourselves. It is important to believe seriously, starting to listen, removing natural susceptibility, making quiet living prevail, rediscovering and making sense of the love of peace, and loving as we are taught by the Holy Scriptures. After all, life reserves the possibility of having to make choices that lead to a break in what until yesterday we considered our fixed points. The Lord has provided us with the necessary means, his teaching, to show us the right way to follow. Of course, going astray is our business alone, so we must feel responsible for events that ultimately embitter our hearts and make life impossible for us. Had we listened to and put into practice what we have been taught, the irreparable with everything that hurts us probably would not have happened. We must have the courage to be able to prune what would risk making a whole plant sick. Love for the Lord leads us to believe that everything next to us, which is far from His suggestions and attention to us, is bad.

In one of his parables, he instructed his disciples to go to villages among the people and bring the word of his Father, but also to shake off their sandals and leave the places where they were not well accepted, both they and their evangelical teachings. What is this if you don't cut evil out of your life? We must have the strength to love to the bitter end, the good beyond the limit; continue to love the same and with more strength even those we believe should no longer be part of our life. If we understand that we can no longer be of help to anyone because of a negative element that revolves around our existence, and that alone we are not able to free ourselves from it, without any hesitation we ask the Lord for help in order to remove the object of the scandal. The unknown scares us and sometimes hinders our desire for rebirth and escape. Yet precisely that emptiness, which we are so afraid to face, is an ally not an enemy. Let's taste it, listen to it, sit down to observe it, and we will realize that it is not as scary as it seemed.
