Unexpected gesture of a young Afghan: he converts on the boat after seeing Jesus

The conversion of Alì Ehsani was born from a terrible crossing, aboard a dilapidated barge, when Jesus protects him and saves his life.

Ali Ehsani

Escape by boat is a global problem involving many people fleeing war, persecution and poverty in search of a better life in Europe and other parts of the world.

This plague can be risky and often deadly, with many people dying in the process crossing of the Mediterranean.

Ali Ehsani is a young Afghan who was 8 years old when returning from school with his brother Mohammed, he found his house in Kabul destroyed and his parents dead under the rubble.

At that moment the brother Mohammed, a few years older, proposed that they set out to find a land where they could study, live and make their dreams come true.

So they bought a boat at the commercial center that separates Turkey from Greece, ready to face the crossing of the Mediterranean.

Unfortunately Mohammed's dreams do they broke among the waves of the sea, when the boat was now at the mercy of the sea. Ali, left alone in the middle of the sea, he clung to what was left of the dinghy, the plastic tank that still managed to float.

Ali dreams of Jesus who embraces and protects him

The boy in his young life had survived threats of the Taliban, prison camps, long walks in the desert, trips hidden on the roofs of trucks, and now he was in danger of drowning.

When exhausted, now hopeless, he closes his eyes, dreams Jesus who embraces him and protects him with a yellow umbrella. Jesus has a bloody face as he keeps repeating that he will protect him. When he wakes up Ali has his feet on dry land.

From that day Ali continues to see yellow umbrellas almost everywhere, and he definitively converted to Christianity. After all, it was his path. His family was secretly Christian in a country where there are no churches, and where practicing Christianity meant dying.
