The story we are going to tell you concerns a Eucharistic miracle occurred in a town in the province of Salerno.

The story of the miracle begins in July of 1656, when the bubonic plague spreads rapidly throughout the Kingdom of Naples, killing thousands of people. The city is in a state of panic and despair, and many seek refuge in churches, praying for an end to the plague.

It all begins with the landing of 40 Spanish soldiers carrying the bubonic plague with them. In a very short time the disease spreads and a real epidemic breaks out.
