June, devotion to the Sacred Heart: meditation on day one

June 1 - THE DIVIN HEART OF JESUS
- The Heart of Jesus! A wound, a crown of thorns, a cross, a flame. - Here is that Heart that loved men so much!

Who gave us that Heart? Jesus himself. He had given us everything: his doctrine, his miracles, his gifts of grace and glory, the holy Eucharist, his Divine Mother. But man still became insensitive to so many gifts. - His pride made him forget the sky, his passions made him go down in the mud. It was then that Jesus himself cast a pitiful gaze on humanity; she appeared to her beloved disciple, St. Margaret M. Àlacoque and manifested the treasures of her Heart to her.

- O Jesus, can your infinite goodness go so far? And to whom do you give your Heart? To the man who is your creature, to the man who forgets you, disobeys you, despises you, blasphems you, who often denies you.

- O Christian soul, do you not shake before the sublime vision of Jesus who gives you his Heart? Do you know why He gave it to you? So that you could repair your ingratitude, the ingratitude of many souls. Oh, what a crash, for a sensitive heart, this word: ingratitude! It is a steel blade that wounds the Heart of Jesus.

And you don't feel all the bitterness of this word?

- Throw yourself at Jesus' feet. Thank him for giving you the most precious gift of his Heart; worship him together with the angels of heaven and the souls that have spread throughout the world have made himself his victims.

Offer your heart to Him. Fear not, Jesus already knows your wounds. He is the good Samaritan who wants to heal them.

Offer yourself that you want to repair your ingratitudes, the ingratitudes of men every day.

This month must be a continuous reparation for Jesus for you. Only in this way can you correspond to the desire of his Heart and secure his treasures of grace and glory.
