Horoscopes: a stupidity not to be believed, also called by science

An authoritative opinion of the scientist Antonio Zichichi:
Man has always been fascinated by the spectacle of the starry sky and astrology was in fact born as a discourse on the stars. Our ancestors had deluded themselves that it would be possible to understand what they were, the Stars by observing their light. But no. To understand what these fascinating companions of the night are, it is necessary to study, here on Earth, in the subnuclear laboratories, the bricks of which everything and ourselves are made. And that is protons, neutrons and electrons. It is by studying what happens in the collisions between these particles that we have managed to understand what the Stars are.
However, the discourse on the stars, which began at the dawn of civilization, continued on its way as if no one had ever discovered that everything is made of protons, neutrons and electrons; that the Stars shine much more than neutrinos than light; and that the structure of the real world, from the heart of a proton to the borders of the Cosmos (therefore including quarks, leptons, gluons and the Stars that are part of the zodiac signs) is governed by Three Columns and Three Forces, Fundamental. These are the anchors of our existential certainty in the Immanent, not the signs of the zodiac nor the modern discourses on the stars, which obviously are not modern because they remain anchored to the times when man ignored the formidable achievements of Galilean Science.
It is incredible but true that today astrology with the signs of the zodiac and horoscopes seems to be the source of all the certainties and the anchor of our existence.
Let's see what the truth is.
The basis of astrology is the zodiac sign to which each is linked in that it was born on a certain day of a certain year. It is good to specify that the zodiac sign is the fruit of the most elementary fantasy. If I look at the sky and choose a couple of stars that shine, through those points it is possible to draw a Leo or Aries or any of the signs of the zodiac. Let's say right away that the day on which you are born is linked to the inclination of the Earth's axis (with respect to the plane of the orbit that the Earth describes by rotating in the cosmic track around the Sun). The sign of the zodiac is instead linked to the position of the Earth in the orbit. Inclination and position must be clearly distinguished. In fact, in the same point of the orbit (identical position) there will be, over the centuries, different inclinations. "If you tell me the day you were born and what sign you are from, I will be able to tell you what is written in the Stars for you." If one is born in the sign of Leo or Libra or any other zodiac sign, that sign carries it for life. And every day he reads the horoscope to find out what awaits him. In fact, those who know how to read the ciphered messages of the sky write in the newspapers, read in the radio and television sections, day by day, the predictions of astrology on the destinies of all of us. The basis is the sign in which you are born.
To invent the Signs of the Zodiac was Hipparchus, who lived in the second century before the Christian era, something like two thousand and two hundred years ago.
We said at the beginning that the spectacle of a starry night fascinates everyone. Our ancestors wondered what the role of the Stars was for the future of the world and for everyday life.
By carefully observing the sky, our ancestors discovered that regularities and anomalies exist. For example, in a certain instant a new star is born. Why? And why is this star born? It also happens that it can be much more brilliant than the others. So much so that it can even be seen during the day. We don't see the stars of the firmament by day. Not because they disappear, but because the light of the Sun wins, which is ten million times more powerful than the light of all the Stars of the firmament. How come from time to time a new star is born? And why does it also happen that it shines in the sky so strongly that it is not erased, like the others, from the light of the Sun? What message does it bring for us miserable mortals?
We know today, thanks to the Galilean Science, that those Stars are nuclear forges in which Gold, Silver, Lead, Titanium and more precisely all the heavy elements of Mendeleev's Table are made. The new stars, observed over the millennia, from the dawn of civilization to the present day, are not mysterious signals that heaven wants to send us. They are perfectly understandable physical phenomena. These new stars are named Nova and Supernova. If these new Stars had never existed, we could not have, here on Earth, neither Gold nor Silver nor Lead nor any heavy element.
The foregoing opens our eyes to the total absence of special meanings to be given to the various positions of these cosmic bodies that rotate around the Sun or around other bodies (as does the Moon around us who turn around the Sun) with precise physical properties.
One final point remains to be clarified.
To think that a zodiac sign could have any relevance on our life is devoid of scientific credibility. Imagine being able to travel on a spaceship at very high speed in order to see closely those bright spots that we have tied to the figure of a lion. Those points are stars that are not on one plane, but at different depths. But even if they were on the same plane, and if they had the exact configuration of a lion, how could they affect our lives? Science responds: through the Fundamental Forces of Nature. These forces are exerted dominantly on us by the Star closest to us. All the other stars of the firmament have negligible effects on us compared to the sun. If our destiny were to depend on the stars, it is to the sun that we should turn to being the star closest to us. But what is a star after all? Is it made of matter composed of molecules and atoms? No. What is the sun? The Sun, like billions of other Stars in the galaxy in which we are, is a huge amount of matter: neither solid, nor liquid, nor gaseous. No atoms or molecules.
In the Sun protons and electrons roam freely without being blocked in atoms and molecules. This state of matter is called plasma. The plasma feeds the nuclear fusion fire in the inner part of the Star and transmits its energy to the surface taking a million years to get there. And thanks to this energy received from the inside of a star that the surface shines with light visible to our eyes. We, however, do not see the huge quantities of neutrinos that are emitted by the Sun thanks to the Weak Forces that transform protons and electrons into neutrons and neutrinos. Neutrons are the gasoline that fuels the nuclear fusion engine of the Sun. To observe neutrinos we have to build special laboratories like those of the Gran Sasso.
The Sun that we see rising within a given zodiac sign is nothing more than a nuclear candle among billions of nuclear candles.
There is no Fundamental Force of Nature nor any structure that can lead us to believe that those nuclear candles can have anything to do with our existence. And finally one last detail. The zodiac sign would be correct if we were born when Hipparchus discovered the so-called precession of the equinoxes, namely the Third movement of the Earth.
We have already seen that the horoscope is based on the zodiac sign relating to the day and month in which it is born. The day and month are determined by the Seasons (and therefore by the inclination of the Earth's axis), not by the position of the Earth in its orbit around the Sun. Instead, the zodiac sign corresponds to a position of the Earth in the orbit that it travels around the Sun. If there were no Third movement of the Earth, it would be correct to say that the link between the date of birth and the zodiac sign never changes. Instead, it changes every 2200 years in a retrograde (clockwise) direction, that is, passing from a zodiac sign to the previous one.
This means that when the Earth has made a turn in the orbit around the Sun, the inclination corresponding to the same point in the orbit is shifted by fourteen thousandths of a degree. On balance it turns out that those who wanted to continue believing in astrology and therefore in the horoscope (despite the total scientific groundlessness of these disciplines) should at least know that the zodiac sign is not what everyone is talking about, but the one corresponding to two signs first. For example, whoever thinks he is Leo knows that he is Gemini. And so on for others.
