Greatness of St. Joseph

All Saints are great in the kingdom of Heaven; however there is some difference between them, based on the good operated in life. What is the greatest saint?

In the Gospel of St. Matthew (XI, 2) we read: "In truth I tell you that no one greater than John the Baptist has ever risen among the born of woman".

It would seem that Saint John the Baptist must be the greatest Saint; but is not so. Jesus intended to exclude his Mother and the Putative Father from this comparison, as when one says to someone: - I love you more than any person! - implying: ... after my mother and father.

St. Joseph, after the Blessed Virgin, is the largest in the kingdom of heaven; just consider the mission he had in the world and the extraordinary authority with which he was clothed.

When he was on this earth he had full powers over the Son of God, even to command him. That Jesus, before whom the Angelic Sers tremble, was subject to him in everything and honored him by deigning to call him "Father". The Virgin Mary, Mother of the Incarnate Word, being his Bride, humbly obeyed her.

Which of the saints ever had such dignity? Now St. Joseph is in Heaven. With death it has not lost its greatness, because in eternity the bonds of present life are perfected and not destroyed; therefore, he continues to have the place he held in the Holy Family in Paradise. Certainly the way has changed, because in Heaven St. Joseph no longer commands Jesus and Our Lady as he commanded in the House of Nazareth, but the power is the same as it was then; so that everything can on the Heart of Jesus and Mary.

San Bernardino of Siena says: - Certainly Jesus does not deny St. Joseph in Heaven that familiarity, reverence and sublimity of dignity, which he lent to him on earth as son to father. -

Jesus glorifies his Putative Father in Heaven, accepting his intercession for the benefit of his devotees and wants the world to honor him, invoke him and appeal to him in needs.

As evidence of this, one remembers what happened in Fatima on September 13, 1917. Then the great European war took place.

The Virgin appeared to the three children; He made several exhortations and before disappearing he announced: - In October St. Joseph will come with the Child Jesus to bless the world.

In fact, on October 13, while the Madonna disappeared in that same light that came from her outstretched hands, three paintings appeared in the sky, one after the other, symbolizing the mysteries of the Rosary: joyful, painful and glorious. The first picture was the Holy Family; Our Lady had a white dress and a blue cloak; at his side was Saint Joseph with the infant Jesus in his arms. The Patriarch made the sign of the Cross three times over the immense crowd. Lucia, enraptured by that scene, shouted: - St. Joseph is blessing us!

Even the Child Jesus, raising his arm, made three signs of the Cross on the people. Jesus, in the kingdom of his glory, is always intimately united with Saint Joseph, mindful of the care received in earthly life.

Example
In 1856, following the massacre caused by cholera in the city of Fano, a young man fell seriously ill in the College of the Jesuit Fathers. The doctors tried to save him, but finally said: - There is no hope of recovery!

One of the Superiors said to the patient - The doctors no longer know what to do. It takes a miracle. The feast of the patronage of San Giuseppe is near. You have a lot of trust in this Saint; on the day of your patronage, try to communicate to you in his honor; seven Masses will be celebrated on the same day, in memory of the Saint's seven sorrows and rejoicing. In addition, you will keep an image of Saint Joseph in your room, with two lamps, lit, to revive your confidence in the Holy Patriarch. -

St. Joseph liked these tests of trust and love and did what the doctors could not do.

In fact, the improvement began immediately and the young man quickly recovered perfectly.

The Jesuit Fathers, acknowledging the healing as prodigious, made the fact public to entice souls to trust in St. Joseph.

Fioretto - Recite Tre Pater, Ave and Gloria to repair the blasphemies that are said against San Giuseppe.

Giaculatoria - St. Joseph, forgive those who profane your name!
