Guard of honor to the Sacred Heart, a devotion inspired by Jesus

ORIGIN - Was inspired by Jesus to the Servant of God Sr. Maria Bernaud del S. Cuore and began to be practiced in the Monastery of the Visitation in Bourg (France) on March 13, 1863, the third Friday of Lent. Leo XIII declared her Archconfraternity for France and Belgium on November 26, 1878. In the year 1871 the Camillian Fr Giovanni Baccichetti transplanted her to Italy and placed the See in the Parish of SS. Vincenzo and Anastasio at the Trevi Fountain, at the time entrusted to the Camillians. On July 18, 1879, Leo XIII was elevated to Arciconfraternita for Italy and the Nations without their own Directorate General. In May 1910, created by Pope Pius X at the behest of the new Parish dedicated to St. Camillus to the Sallustian Gardens, the Camillians moved here definitively establishing the Central Management in it.

END - Consoling the Holy Heart of Jesus transfixed one day on the Cross, today by the forgetfulness and ingratitude of men, making it a cult of Glory, Love and Perpetual Repairs hour by hour by the Guard of Honor around the world .

ROOTS - “From the side of Christ, pierced by the spear, John saw water and blood come out, a double testimony of the love of God, which corroborates the testimony of the Spirit. Now this water and blood continue to exercise their vivifying power in the Church "(Xavier Leon-Dufour). “The Heart of Jesus in which the wound was seen ... was surrounded by a crown of thorns and a cross hung over it, which seemed to be stuck there. The Lord explained to me that those instruments of his Passion meant that his infinite love for men had been the source of all his pains ... "(St. Margaret M. Alacoque).

MEANS

I. Registration in the register of the Archconfraternity or of another Center dependent on it.
II. Hour of watch - Who enrolls in the G. d'O. he chooses at will once and for all an hour of the day to consecrate to Jesus, during which, without taking anything away from his ordinary occupations, with devoted ejaculation, he offers his labors, his pains, his heart to Jesus, keeping himself inspired close to him who moans in the Holy Tabernacle, repairing his love outraged and forgotten by sinners who offend him all over the world. Nothing obliges under pain of sin, and whoever forgets to make the hour of guard can replace at another time of his choice. It is not necessary to recite different prayers in it, nor to go to the Church, but each one can regulate himself according to his occupations and his own fervor.
III. The very precious offer - The guards of honor have a mission of repair and propitiation; therefore they make a special cult to the Divine Heart of Jesus pierced by the spear and in imitation of the first heroic Guards of Honor at the foot of the Cross: Maria SS.ma, S. Giovanni Ev., S. Maria Maddalena and the other Pious Women, in they console the pains, and offer the Eternal Father the precious Blood and Water that gushed out of it, for the needs of the Holy Church and the salvation of sinners. This offer can be made in the hour on call and during the day with a special indulgent formula.

It consists in making a special hour of Guard - hour of mercy - for the soul whose repentance is desired. The person who offers to do this hour, has the sinner's initials inscribed on the Quadrant, determining the special guard time chosen for him. We pray for the remission of our sins, of sinners and for the dying. It was commanded by Jesus to S. Margherita Alacoque.

7. THE VICTIM SOULS of the H.
