"I think that Italian society is losing its senses, the meaning of life, the use of reason and it is increasingly sick. Celebrating the Halloween party is making hosanna to the devil. Who, if adored, even for just one night, thinks he has rights to the person. So let's not be surprised if the world seems to go catapult and if the studies of psychologists and psychiatrists are teeming with sleepless, vandal, agitated children, and with boys obsessed and depressed, potential suicides ". The sentence is by the exorcist of the Holy See, former president of the international association of exorcists, the Modenese father Gabriele Amorth.

The macabre masks, the apparently harmless invocations, would be, for the exorcist, only a tribute to the prince of this world: the devil. "I am very sorry that Italy, like the rest of Europe, is moving away from Jesus the Lord and, even, is paying homage to Satan", says the exorcist according to whom "the Halloween feast is a sort of spirit session presented in the form of a game. The cunning of the devil is right here. If you notice it, everything is presented in a playful, innocent form. Even sin is no longer sin in today's world. But everything is camouflaged in the form of need, freedom or personal pleasure. Man - he concludes - has become the god of himself, exactly what the devil wants ". And remember that in the meantime, in many Italian cities, the 'feasts of light' have been organized, a real counter-offensive to the celebrations of darkness, with songs to the Lord and innocent games for children.
