The ten commandments in the Gospels: things to know

Can all the Ten Commandments, given in Exodus 20 and other places, also be found in the New Testament?
God gave the gift of his righteous Ten Commandments to the children of Israel after their Egyptian slavery. Each of these laws is reformulated, both in words and in meaning, in the Gospels or in the rest of the New Testament. In fact, we don't have to go long before we meet Jesus' words about God's laws and commandments.

Almost at the beginning of the famous Sermon on the Mount of Jesus, he affirms something that is often distorted, or simply forgotten, by those who wish to end the commandments. He says: “Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I did not come to abolish, but to fulfill ... until heaven and earth pass away, a jot or a piece must not go the way passes by the Law (commandments, sentences, statutes etc. of God) ... (Matthew 5:17 - 18).

The 'jot' mentioned in the verse above was the smallest Hebrew or Greek letter of the alphabet. The "small" is a very small trait or a sign added to some letters of the Hebrew alphabet to distinguish one from the other. From Jesus' declaration we can only conclude that, since heaven and earth are still here, God's commandments have not been "eliminated", but are still in force!

The apostle John, in the last book of the Bible, makes a clear statement about the importance of the law of God. Writing about truly converted Christians who live in time just before Jesus returns to earth he says that they "keep the commandments of God" E they also have faith in Jesus Christ (Revelation 14:12)! John says that both obedience and faith can coexist!

Listed below are the commandments of God as found in the book of Exodus, chapter 20. Together with each is where they are repeated, exactly or in principle, in the New Testament.
