The visionaries of Medjugorje saw Purgatory: what they said

Vicka: Purgatory is also a great space. In Purgatory, however, you don't see people, you just see a big fog and you hear ...

Father Livio: What do you feel?

Vicka: You feel that people are suffering. You know, there are noises ...

Father Livio: I have just published my book: "Because I believe in Medjugorje", where I write that in Purgatory they would feel like crying, shouting, banging ... Is that correct? I too was struggling to find the right words in Italian to make sense of what you say in Croatian to pilgrims.

Vicka: You can't say that you can hear blows or even cry. There you don't see people. It is not like Heaven.

Father Livio: What do you feel then?

Vicka: You feel they are suffering. It is a suffering of different kinds. You can hear voices and even noises, like someone beating himself ...

Father Livio: Do they beat each other?

Vicka: It feels that way, but I couldn't see. It is difficult, Father Livio, to explain something that you do not see. It is one thing to feel and another is to see. In Paradise you see that they walk, sing, pray, and therefore you can report it exactly. In Purgatory you can only see a large fog. The people who are there are waiting for our prayers to be able to go to Heaven as soon as possible.

Father Livio: Who said that our prayers await?

Vicka: Our Lady said that the people who are in Purgatory are waiting for our prayers to be able to go to Heaven as soon as possible.

Father Livio: Listen, Vicka: we could interpret the light of Paradise as the divine presence in which the people who are in that place of bliss are immersed. What does the fog of Purgatory mean, in your opinion?

Vicka: For me, fog is definitely a sign of hope. They are suffering, but have the certain hope that they will go to Heaven.

Father Livio: It strikes me that Our Lady insists on our prayers for the souls of Purgatory.

Vicka: Yes, Our Lady says that they need our prayers to go to Heaven first.

Father Livio: Then our prayers can shorten Purgatory.

Vicka: If we pray more, they go to Heaven first.

Jacov's journey

JAKOV: Then we found ourselves in a space full of fog. I can't say anything else to describe it except by saying that it was a kind of fog. We only saw movements in there, but people, people, we didn't see them. Our Lady told us that we must pray a lot for the souls of Purgatory, because they really need our prayers.

FATHER LIVIO: Feel a little: but on leaving Paradise did that joy disappear too?

JAKOV: Yes, but it hasn't completely disappeared. But when you enter Purgatory you no longer feel what you have heard before.

FATHER LIVIO: No? What do you feel?

JAKOV: You feel ... When you see these movements in the fog, you immediately think that they are the souls of the people and you also feel annoyed. You feel annoyed, but also painful for them.

FATHER LIVIO: Do you also feel the pain for them?

JAKOV: You feel sorry for them because they ended up there and because a moment before you were in that immense joy and in that peace and you saw people who were really happy. Then you see these suffering souls and immediately feel sorry for them.

FATHER LIVIO: Of course, and therefore we must pray for them.

JAKOV: Our Lady recommended so much to pray for the souls of Purgatory, because they need our prayers.

FATHER LIVIO: In this way is Purgatory abbreviated?

JAKOV: Yes. Today we say many times, and I too have often heard it, that a loved one of ours, who died, has certainly gone to Heaven. Only God knows where our dead are.

FATHER LIVIO: How do you think we can help them?

JAKOV: We can pray for our dead. Offer Holy Masses for them.

FATHER LIVIO: Very right ...

JAKOV: This is why Our Lady turns to us.
