When the people of the city became aware of Jesus' presence, they began to flock from all over, carrying the sick and infirm on litters and carpets. The crowd is so big that Jesus can't even eat.

The first person who approaches him is a woman who has been suffering from bleeding for twelve years. The woman, believing that Jesus could heal her, approaches from behind her and touches her cloak. She immediately she feels that she has been healed. Jesus turns around and asks who touched him. The disciples answer him that the crowd surrounds him on all sides, but he understands that someone has touched his cloak with faith. Then, the woman presents herself to Jesus, she tells him her story and he says to her: “Daughter, your faith has healed you. Go in peace and be healed of your affliction."

Seek Jesus in prayers

After healing the woman, Jesus continues to heal the sick and infirm that are presented to him. The people of the city start bringing their sick people from everywhere, hoping it will heal them. In many cases, it is enough to touch his cloak to be healed, as in the case of the woman with the hemorrhages. Jesus continues to heal the sick until the sun goes down.

Faith can be a comfort to those who are going through a difficult time. Jesus promised to be with us always, even in the darkest moments of our lives. He invites us to trust him and to place our trust in him. When we entrust ourselves, he welcomes us as we are and helps us overcome our difficulties.

Prayer is an effective way to get in touch with Jesus. We can ask him for the healing of our wounds and illnesses. Jesus said: «Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and it will be opened to you." He encourages us to ask in faith and to believe that only He can answer our prayers.
