The advice of today 1 September 2020 of San Cirillo

God is spirit (Jn 5:24); he who is spirit has generated spiritually (…), in a simple and incomprehensible generation. The Son himself said of the Father: "The Lord said to me: You are my Son, today I have begotten you" (Ps 2: 7). Today is not recent, but eternal; today is not in time, but before all centuries. "From the bosom of the dawn like dew, I have begotten you" (Ps 110: 3). So believe in Jesus Christ, Son of the living God, but the only-begotten Son according to the word of the Gospel: "God so loved the world that he gave his only-begotten son, so that whoever believes in him may not perish but have eternal life" (Jn 3, 16). (…) John gives this testimony about him: "We saw his glory, glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth" (Jn 1, 14).

Therefore, the demons themselves, trembling before him, shouted: «Enough! what do we have to do with you, Jesus of Nazareth? You are the Son of the living God! He is therefore the Son of God according to nature, and not only through adoption, since he was born of the Father. (…) The Father, true God, generated the Son similar to him, true God. (…) The Father generated the son differently from how the spirit generates the word in men; for the spirit in us remains, while the word, once spoken, vanishes. We know that Christ was generated "the living and eternal Word" (1 Pt 1:23), not only pronounced with the lips, but precisely born of the Father eternally, ineffably, of the same nature as the Father: "In the beginning was the Word and the Word was God ”(Jn 1,1). Word that understands the will of the Father and does everything by his order; Word that comes down from heaven and goes up again (cf. Is 55,11:13); (…) Word full of authority and that holds everything, because "the Father has given everything into the hands of the Son" (Jn 3: XNUMX).
