Today's advice 6 September 2020 by Tertullian

Tertullian (155? - 220?)
theologian

Penance, 10,4-6
"Where two or three are gathered in my name, I am among them"
Why do you think they are different from you, if they live among brothers, servants of the same master, and they have everything in common, hope, fear, joy, pain, pain (since they have the same soul coming from the same Lord and same Father)? Why do you fear those who have known the same falls, as if they will applaud yours? The body cannot rejoice in the evil that comes to one of its members; it is necessary that he suffer entirely and strive to heal entirely.

Where two faithful are united, there is the Church, but the Church is Christ. So when you hug your brothers' knees, it is Christ you touch, it is Christ you beg. And when, for their part, the brothers cry for you, it is Christ who suffers, it is Christ who begs the Father. What Christ asks for is quickly granted.
