The heart of Carlo Acutis, still intact, will become a relic

THEembalming of the body of Carlo Acutis was carried out by a team of experts, under the supervision of the coroner of the Vatican, Roberto Fumagalli. The process was completed in two days and involved using chemicals to stop the decomposition process and to preserve the body for a long time.

The bishop of Assisi is keen to point out that at the time of theexhumation, which took place on January 23, 2019, before the embalming, the body of Carlo Acutis was found in the normal state of transformation typical of the cadaveric condition and not intact as reported by the media and social networks.

The body of Carlo Acutis was embalmed mainly for two reasons. First, her family's desire to preserve his body in order to be able to venerate and to allow his many followers to pray at his grave.

Secondly, the embalming of his body was also a decision of the Vatican, who decided to start the beatification process of Acutis. The preservation of his body will allow his followers to see his face and pray to him as a saint on earth.
