“My success? Merit of Jesus ”, the revelation of actor Tom Selleck
The Emmy and Golden Globe Award Winning Actor, Tom Selleck, known for his roles in The Closer, Blue Bloods and Magnum PI, attributes his success solely to his own Faith in Jesus Christ.
However, his faith has not always been on the same level. Tom Selleck, 76, acknowledges that his journey as a Christian has been quite difficult over the years.
His career has come a long way. Before he and his 'mustache' became culturally influential, Selleck was a basket player college with occasional roles in Pepsi commercials and episodes of The Dating Game.
When he was young, Selleck was working on a business degree and had plans for a management training program with United Airlines when he decided to pursue an acting career in earnest.
After graduation, the Twentieth Century Fox he offered him an acting contract but God wasn't calling him to act then. He decided to listen to His call to join the army.
Selleck learned the values of the US military from his parents at an early age. Those lessons taught by his mother and father have transformed him not only into an actor but also into a veteran and a man of integrity.
During the Vietnam war, Selleck joined the California National Guard in the 160th Infantry Regiment. He served from 1967 to 1973. He later appeared on California National Guard recruiting posters.
The military made a strong impression on Selleck and he looks back on his service with pride: “I'm a veteran, I'm proud of it,” Selleck said. “I was a sergeant in the US Army Infantry, National Guard, Vietnam era. We are all brothers and sisters ”.
After the army, Tom Selleck returned to acting. It was his role as Thomas Magnum that changed his life forever. Even after he landed this acting role, he continued to listen to God.
“As good as this work has been for me, that's not the meaning of life. Life is made up of more important things. You know, we all fought to catch up, certainly I did too, ”Selleck said.
In 1980 Tom Selleck missed another big break when he got married.
The actor attributes all his success in life to Jesus Christ, which he claims as his Lord and Savior.
Selleck says he's always tried to behave ethically and that's what matters most. He attributes his fortune to Jesus Christ. Although it is the heart of an individual who makes plans throughout his life, it is God who guides him through them: "A man's heart plans his way, but the Lord directs his steps. Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God, that he may lift you up in due time, ”he said.
