The thought and story of Padre Pio today November 19th

The thought of today
Prayer is the outpouring of our heart into that of God ... When it is done well, it moves the divine Heart and invites it more and more to grant us. We try to pour out our whole soul when we start to pray to God. He remains wrapped in our prayers to be able to come to our aid.

Today's story
It dates back to 1908 what was called one of the first miracles of Padre Pio. Being in the convent of Montefusco, Fra Pio thought of going to collect a bag of chestnuts to send to his aunt Daria, to Pietrelcina, who had always shown him a great affection. The woman received the chestnuts, ate them and kept the souvenir bag. Some time later, one evening, making light with an oil lamp, Aunt Daria went to rummage in a drawer where her husband kept the gunpowder. A spark started the fire and the drawer exploded and hit the woman in the face. Screaming in pain Aunt Daria took from the dresser the bag that contained Fra Pio's chestnuts and placed it on her face in an attempt to relieve the burns. Immediately the pain disappeared and no sign of the burns remained on the woman's face.
