The inspiring thought of today: Jesus calms the storm

Today's Bible verse:
Matthew 14: 32-33
And when they got on the boat, the wind stopped. And those in the boat worshiped him, saying, "You really are the Son of God." (ESV)

The inspiring thought of today: Jesus calms the storm
In this verse, Peter had just walked on stormy waters with Jesus. When he turned his eyes away from the Lord and concentrated on the storm, he began to sink under the weight of his troubling circumstances. But when he called for help, Jesus took him by the hand and lifted him from his seemingly impossible environment.

Then Jesus and Peter got on the boat and the storm subsided. The disciples in the boat had just witnessed something miraculous: Peter and Jesus walking on stormy waters and then the sudden calm of the waves as they boarded the ship.

Everyone in the boat started to worship Jesus.

Perhaps your circumstances seem like a modern reproduction of this scene.

Otherwise, remember that the next time you go through a stormy life, maybe God is going to reach out and walk with you on the furious waves. You may feel tossed about, barely staying afloat, but God may have plans to do something miraculous, something so extraordinary that anyone who sees it will fall and worship the Lord, including you.

This scene in Matthew's book took place in the middle of the dark night. The disciples were tired of fighting the elements all night. They were certainly afraid. But then God, Master of the storms and controller of the waves, came to them in the dark. He got into their boat and calmed their angry hearts.

The Gospel Herald once published this funny epigram on storms:

A woman was sitting next to a minister on an airplane during a storm.
The woman: “Can't you do something about this terrible storm?
"
God takes care of storm management. If you are in one, you can trust the Master of Storms.

Even if we can never walk on water like Peter, we will go through difficult circumstances that test faith. Eventually, when Jesus and Peter got on the boat, the storm stopped immediately. When we have Jesus "in our boat", calm the storms of life so that we can worship him. This alone is miraculous.
