The role of faith in healing

Maryjo believed in Jesus as a child, but a dysfunctional family life turned her into an angry and rebellious teenager. He continued on a bitter path until, at the age of 45, Maryjo became seriously ill. She was diagnosed with cancer, especially non-Hodgkin follicular lymphoma. Knowing what she was to do, Maryjo returned her life to Jesus Christ and soon found herself experiencing a wonderful healing miracle. Now she is free from cancer and lives to tell others what God can do for those who trust and believe in him.

Early life
Maryjo began to believe in Jesus, but never took on the role of servant of God or had the passion to do his will. While she was saved and baptized at the age of 11 on Easter Sunday in 1976, as she grew older, she was not taught the basics of becoming a servant of the Lord.

A path of misery
Growing up in a dysfunctional home, Maryjo and her sisters were constantly being abused and neglected as everyone around them turned a blind eye. During his teenage years, he started to rebel as a way to seek justice and his life started the path of total misery and pain.

Fights hit her left and right. He always felt he was in the valley of suffering and could never see the top of the mountain he had dreamed of. For over 20 years of stressful life, Maryjo has carried hatred, anger and bitterness around. He accepted and believed in the idea that perhaps God really didn't love us. If it did, then why have we been abused so much?

Diagnosis
So, apparently suddenly, Maryjo fell ill. It was a surreal, paralyzing and painful event that unfolded before her eyes: one minute she was sitting in a doctor's office and the next one a CT scan was scheduled.

At just 45, Maryjo was diagnosed with stage IV non-Hodgkin follicular lymphoma: she had tumors in five areas and was near death. The doctor could not even elaborate because of how ugly it was and how far it had developed, he simply said: "It is not curable but it is curable, and as long as you are responding, we can do you good."

Treatment
As part of his treatment plan, doctors performed a bone marrow biopsy and removed a lymph node under his right arm. A port catheter for chemotherapy has been inserted and has undergone seven rounds of R-CHOP chemotherapy. The treatments essentially destroyed his body and he had to rebuild it every 21 days. Maryjo was a very sick woman and thought she would never get over it, but she saw what she had to do to survive.

Healing prayers
Prior to her diagnosis, a close friend from school, Lisa, had introduced Maryjo to the most wonderful church. While months of chemotherapy left her broken, knocked down and very ill, the deacons and church elders gathered around one night, imposed and anointed her while praying for healing.

God healed his sick body that night. It was just a matter of following the movements as the power of the Holy Spirit worked within her. Over time, a wonderful miracle of the Lord Jesus Christ has been revealed and witnessed by all. Maryjo returned her life to Jesus Christ and entrusted him with control of her life. He knew that without Jesus he simply would not have made it.

While his cancer treatment was tough on his body and mind, God had the Holy Spirit inside Maryjo doing powerful work. Now, there are no more diseased masses or lymph nodes in his body.

What God Can Do
Jesus came to die on the cross to save us from our sins. This is how much he loves us. It will never leave you, even in the darkest hours. The Lord can do extraordinary things if we trust and believe in him. If we ask, we will receive his wealth and glory. Open your heart and ask it to come in and be your personal Lord and Savior.

Maryjo is a miracle that walks and breathes what our Lord God has done. Her cancer is in remission and she now leads an obedient life. During his illness, people prayed for me all over the world, from India and up to America and Asheville, NC, to his church, Glory Tabernacle. God has blessed Maryjo with a wonderful family of believers and continues to reveal wonders in his life and demonstrate his unwavering love and mercy for all of us.
