The prophetic dream of Saint John Bosco: the future of the world, the Church and the events of Paris

On January 5, 1870 Don Bosco had a prophetic dream about the future events of the Church and the world. He himself wrote what he saw and heard, and on February 12 he communicated it to Pope Pius IX.
It is a prophecy that, like all the Vatican, has its dark points. Don Bosco pointed out how difficult it was to communicate to others with external and sensitive signs what he had seen. According to him, what he had narrated was only "the Word of God accommodated to the word of man". But the many clear points show how God has truly revealed to his Servant secrets unknown to all, so that they could be revealed for the good of the Church and for the comfort of Christians.
The exhibition begins with an explicit statement: "I found myself in the consideration of supernatural things", difficult to communicate. Prophecy follows, divided into three parts:
1 on Paris: she will be punished for not recognizing her Creator;
2 on the Church: plagued by discord and internal divisions. The definition of the dogma of pontifical infallibility will overcome the enemy;
3 on Italy and Rome in particular, which superbly despises the law of the Lord. For this cause, he will suffer great scourges.

Finally "the Augusta Regina", in whose hands is the power of God, will make the iris of peace shine again.
The announcement begins with the tone of the ancient prophets:
«God alone can do everything, know everything, see everything. God has neither past nor future, but to him everything is present as in one place. Before God there is no hidden thing, nor with him there is a distance of place or person. He alone in his infinite mercy and for his glory can manifest future things to men.
On the eve of the Epiphany of the current year 1870 the material objects of the room disappeared and I found myself in the consideration of supernatural things. It was a matter of brief moments, but much was seen.
Although of form, of sensitive appearances, nevertheless one cannot communicate with others with great difficulty with external and sensitive signs. If you have an idea from the following. There is the word of God accommodated to the word of man.
War comes from the South, Peace comes from the North.
The laws of France no longer recognize the Creator, and the Creator will make himself known and visit her three times with the rod of his fury. In the first he will break down his pride with defeats, with the plundering and with the massacre of crops, animals and men. In the second, the great prostitute of Babylon, the one whom the good sighing calls the Brothel of Europe, will be deprived of her head in the throes of disorder.
- Paris! Paris! Instead of arming yourself with the name of the Lord, surround yourself with houses of immorality. They will be destroyed by yourself, your idol, the Pantheon, will be incinerated, so that it will come true that lied est iniquitas sibi (iniquity has lied to itself). Your enemies will put you in distress, in hunger, in fear and in the abomination of nations. But woe to you if you do not recognize the hand of the one who strikes you! I want to punish the immorality, abandonment, contempt of my law - says the Lord.
In the third you will fall into a foreign hand, your enemies from afar will see your palaces on fire, your homes become a pile of ruins bathed in the blood of your brave men who are no longer.
But here is a great warrior from the North carrying a banner. On the right that holds it is written: Irresistible hand of the Lord. In that instant the Venerando Vecchio of Lazio went to meet him waving a very burning torch. Then the banner expanded and black that had become snow white. In the middle of the banner in gold letters was the name of Whoever can.
The warrior with his men bowed deeply to the Old Man and shook hands.

Now the voice of Heaven is to the Shepherd of the shepherds. You are in the big conference with your councilors [Vatican I], but the enemy of good is not a moment in peace, he studies and practices all the arts against you. It will sow discord among your councilors, will stir up enemies among my children. The powers of the century will vomit fire and would like my words to be suffocated in the throat of the keepers of my law. This will not be. They will hurt, hurt themselves. You accelerate: if the difficulties are not resolved, they will be cut short. If you are in distress, do not stop, but continue until the head of the hydra of error is truncated [the definition of the Pontifical Infallibility]. This blow will make earth and hell tremble, but the world will be assured and all the good ones will rejoice. So gather around you even two councilors, but wherever you go, continue and end the work that was entrusted to you [Vatican Council I]. The days run fast, your years advance to the established number; but the great Queen will always be your help, and as in past times, so in the future, she will always be magnum etsingulare in Ecclesiapraesidium (great and singular defense in the Church).
But you, Italy, land of blessings, who has immersed you in desolation? ... Do not say the enemies, but your friends. Don't you hate that your children ask for the bread of faith and don't find who breaks it? What will I do? I will beat the shepherds, I will scatter the flock, so that the teeth on the chair of Moses will seek good pastures and the flock meekly listen and feed.
But over the flock and over the shepherds my hand will weigh; famine, pestilence, war will cause mothers to mourn the blood of their children and husbands who have died in enemy land.
And say, Rome, what will it be? Ungrateful Rome, effeminate Rome, superb Rome! You have come to such that you do not seek anything else, nor do you admire anything else in your Sovereign, if not luxury, forgetting that your and his glory lies in Golgotha. Now he is old, crumbling, helpless, stripped; however with the word slave she makes the whole world tremble.
Rome! ... I will come to you four times!
- In the first I will strike your lands and the inhabitants of them.
- In the second I will bring the massacre and extermination to your walls. Still not open your eye?
- The third will come, will break down the defenses and defenders and the reign of terror, fright and desolation will take over at the command of the Father.
- But my wise men flee, my law is still trampled on, therefore I will make the fourth visit. Woe to you if my law is still a vain name for you! Prevarications will occur in the learned and ignorant. Your blood and the blood of your children will wash away the stains you make on the law of your God.
War, the plague, hunger are the scourges with which men's pride and malice will be struck. Where are your magnificences, your villas, your palaces? They have become the garbage in the squares and streets!
But you priests, why don't you run crying between the vestibule and the altar, invoking the suspension of the scourges? Why don't you take the shield of faith and go over the roofs, in the houses, in the streets, in the squares, in any place, even inaccessible, to carry the seed of my word? Are you unaware that this is the terrible two-edged sword that breaks down my enemies and that breaks the wrath of God and men? These things will inevitably come one after the other.
Things happen too slowly.
But the August Queen of Heaven is present.
The power of the Lord is in his hands; scatters his enemies like fog. He wears the Venerable Old Man in all his ancient clothes. A violent hurricane will still happen.
Iniquity is consumed, sin will end, and before two full moon of the month of flowers, the iris of peace will appear on earth.
The Grand Minister will see his King's Bride dressed up.
All over the world a sun will appear so bright that it has never been from the flames of the Last Supper until today, nor will it be seen until the last days ».

The Salesian Bulletin of 1963, in three episodes on the issues of October, November, December, made an interesting comment on this vision. Here we limit ourselves to citing the authoritative judgment of the Civilization of 1872, year 23, vol. VI, series 80, pp 299 and 303. It literally refers to some periods preceded by this testimony: «We like to remember a very recent prophecy never printed and unknown to the public, which was communicated to a person in Rome from a city from northern Italy February 12, 1870.
We ignore who it comes from. But we can certify that we had it in our hands, before Paris was bombed by the Alemanni and set on fire by the Communists. And we will say that we are amazed to see you anticipated the fall of Rome as well, when you really did not consider yourself to be near or probable ". '
