Impressive statue of Padre Pio under the sea (PHOTO) (VIDEO)

An amazing statue of Padre Pio attracts hundreds of tourists who come to contemplate the face of the Saint of Pietrelcina.

The beautiful image was created by the sculptor from Foggia Mimmo Norcia: it is 3 meters high and is found at a depth of fourteen meters near theIsland of Capraia, an island belonging to the Tuscan Archipelago and located in the Ligurian Sea, in Italy.

The huge statue was immersed on 3 October 1998, the eve of the feast of St. Francis of Assisi, in a complicated engineering operation.

It is a cross-shaped structure that portrays the Saint with open arms and a benevolent gaze, facing the sky, almost enclosing the sea in an embrace and invoking the protection of this island on stormy days.
