The Green Pass in effect from today, will it also be used in the Church? THE INFO

With regard to the new provisions of the Government on the Green pass that take effect today, Friday 6 August, vaccination certification is not required to participate in the celebrations in the church.

Furthermore, the Green pass is not required for processions and for those who attend summer camps. Obviously, the protocol on "Safe Masses" of May 2020 remains in force. The communication of the Diocese to the parishes on the instructions drawn up by the Government and CEI.

In a communication sent to all the parishes, the bishop Ivo Muser and the vicar general Eugen Runggaldier recall the new provisions, drawn up by the Technical Scientific Committee and by the representatives of the Italian Episcopal Conference, which with regard to the "Green pass", in force from today, specify that it is mandatory in the ecclesiastical context.

According to these instructions, the "Green pass" is not compulsory for participation and for the celebration of the various religious functions. It is also not mandatory to participate in the processions. Likewise, it is not mandatory for those who attend summer camps (for example GREST), even when meals are to be consumed. The summer camps are an exception, but they provide for an overnight stay: for this typology the “Green pass” is required.

WHERE YOU NEED THE GREEN PASS

In summary, the Green pass is used to:

  • bars and restaurants with table consumption, indoors;
  • shows open to the public, sporting events and competitions;
  • museums, other institutes and places of culture and exhibitions;
  • swimming pools, swimming centers, gyms, team sports, wellness centers, even within accommodation facilities, limited to indoor activities;
  • festivals and fairs, conferences and congresses;
  • spas, theme and amusement parks;
  • cultural centers, social and recreational centers, limited to indoor activities and with the exception of educational centers for children, including summer centers, and related catering activities;
  • game rooms, betting rooms, bingo halls and casinos;
  • public competitions.
