The novena to the Holy Spirit begins today in the month dedicated to him

Holy Spirit, gift of God to my soul, I am stunned by the emotion and admiration, thinking of You. I find nothing that can tell the intimate happiness I feel, knowing you are my sweet guest, and divine life in me. Like flooding waters, the soul is overwhelmed by the quiet, by love, by the tasty contemplation of You. I am amazed by so much dignity; I think of your beauty, wonderful beyond saying and imagining; I think of your inexhaustible wealth of grace, gifts, virtues, fruits and beatitudes. I think of your tender kindness, which pushes you to live in me. You have everything, you can everything, you want to give me everything. I am in a state of emotional admiration, despite my misery, which makes me the last of the earth. I bless you, I adore you, I thank you, I ask you everything. Give me everything, Holy Spirit.

Glory to the Father and the Son ...

Spirit of the Lord and heavenly giver with the deepest humility, but also with all the strength of my ardent desires, I ask that you give me your holy gifts, especially wisdom and piety. Increase these gifts in me until their complete development so that my soul may be docile and obedient to you, inner teacher, and I will live habitually of your gifts and in the intimate and sweet contemplation of you and the whole Trinity.

Glory to the Father and the Son ...

Holy Spirit, inner teacher and sanctifier, I ask you, with tireless insistence, that You want to instruct my intellect on the whole truth and speak to my heart, that You want to sanctify me, taking care of my soul as you have cured that of Our Lady, your Immaculate Bride, martyrs and saints. I am greedy for holiness: not for me, but to give glory to You, teacher of teachers, glory to the Trinity, splendor to the Church, example to souls. There is no better means of being true apostles than being saints, because, apart from holiness, very little is concluded. Holy Spirit hear my prayer and grant my ardent wishes.

Glory to the Father and the Son ...

Holy Spirit, truth and blissful light, I feel a deep bitterness in finding that you are almost completely unknown or forgotten by most of us. We never think of you, distracted as we are by so many worries, absorbed by the spirit of the world, careless and heedless of your concern and delicacy. What ingratitude! Much of this fault is ours, that we do not live this truth and that we hardly ever speak to souls. Welcome, divine Spirit, these my poor feelings, in reparation for such a deplorable forgetfulness, and to implore so much light for me, for the priests and for the faithful.
Glory to the Father and the Son ...

Holy Spirit, love and gentleness of the Father and the Son, flower and perfume of the holiness of God, divine fire kindled in me, make my heart all new; remove all stains and darkness, burn all impurities, and make me conform to the image of the divine Son. Spirit of fire, that you deign to dwell personally in me to sanctify me, light this fire of love in me, penetrate and invest your whole soul with your flame; drive away any disordered affection; push me to apostolic conquests; give me the grace to be a flame, and to burn with pure and eternal love. Glory to the Father and the Son ...

Spirit of fortitude, which you have given to the martyrs the strength to die happily for the cause of Christ the Lord, instill in me this divine gift in all its intensity. Shake my numbness and my indolence, make me strong in undertaking all that the Lord asks of me, regardless of sacrifices and efforts, your glory and the spiritual and material benefit of all the brothers. Give me strength to continue with ardor, without getting tired and without the possibility of abandoning, what I started. Give me courage and energy in boldly defending the Church, in affirming the integrity of faith before everyone, and true obedience to the Pope and the Bishops. Give me the supernatural momentum in the apostolate; that I persevere to the end, at the cost of any martyrdom of the soul or body. Divine spirit, surround me with your omnipotence, support me with your vigor, and envelop me with your invincible fortress. Glory to the Father and the Son ...

Spirit of truth and light, flame and warmth of light, blissful light, clears and scatters the shadows of error and doubt from my mind. It radiates and illuminates the soul's soul with perfect clarity. May I always reject every mistake; that strongly adheres to the truth according to the teachings of the Church; that you walk in Your splendor. Dressed in Your holy light, that I always remain in Your truth and pure clarity. Glory to the Father and the Son ...

O cleansing Spirit, purify me of every stain. Sanctify me and give me the virtues of Jesus, his own intentions and inner dispositions. Be in me the same Spirit of Jesus. Spire in my soul, towards Jesus, the same love that the Father breathes to his divine Son and give me the same attraction that the Father feels towards his beloved and dearest Son Jesus. Glory to the Father and to the Son ...

Holy Spirit, I beg you to illuminate my mind with clear lights, necessary for me, and for those who ask from me, and to support my weak will with graces of love and fortitude. Divine sanctifier, lead me to the summit of holiness, through continuous, patient, docile work to your concern. Holiness is You and I must let you live in me, following your work of perfection. Divine renewer, renew everything, remove all evil, every danger, every wickedness, remake everything new in me, all pure, all holy. Divine vivifier, soul of my soul, give me the strength to always attest and glorify, together with You, the divine Son and to live for his glory and die in his love. Divine donor, give me your gifts to contemplate God in the light of his mysteries, to understand the true value of life and things, and to love everyone with pure charity, as if you were already in heaven. Thank you! Amen.

Glory to the Father and the Son ...
