We invoke the intercession of San Gerardo in a difficult situation in life

O Saint Gerard, you who with your intercession, your graces and your favors, have guided innumerable hearts to God; you who have been elected comforter of the afflicted, relief of the poor, doctor of the sick; you who make your devotees cry in consolation: listen to the prayer that I turn to you confidently. Read in my heart and see how much I suffer. Read in my soul and heal me, comfort me, console me. You who know my affliction, how can you see me suffer so much without coming to my aid?

Gerardo, come to my rescue soon! Gerardo, make sure that I too am in the number of those who love, praise and thank God with you. Let me sing his mercies together with those who love me and suffer for me.

What does it cost you to listen to me?

I will not cease to invoke you until you have fully fulfilled me. It is true that I do not deserve your graces, but listen to me for the love you bring to Jesus, for the love you bring to Mary most holy. Amen.

TRIDUAL IN SAN GERARDO

O Saint Gerard, you have made of your life a very pure lily of candor and virtue; you have filled your mind and heart with pure thoughts, holy words and good works.

You have seen everything in the light of God. You have been able to see the hand of God in the master builder of the tailoring Pannuto who unjustly struck you; you accepted as a gift from God the mortifications of superiors, the misunderstandings of the confreres, the adversities of life.

In this heroic journey of yours towards holiness, Mary's maternal gaze was comforting to you. You loved her from an early age: at seven you knelt ecstatic in front of the Madonnina di Materdomini. You proclaimed her your bride when, in the youthful ardor of your twenties, you put the engagement ring on her finger. You had the joy of closing your eyes under Mary's motherly gaze.

O Saint Gerard, obtain for us with your prayer to be passionate lovers of Jesus and Mary. Let our life, like yours, be a perennial song of love for Jesus and Mary. Glory to the Father ...

O Saint Gerard, the most perfect image of Jesus crucified, for you the cross was an inexhaustible source of glory.

On the cross you saw the irreplaceable means of salvation; from the cross, the victory against the snares of the devil.

You searched for it with holy obstinacy, embracing it with serene resignation in the continual opposition of life.

You have tormented your body with vigorous vigils, fasts and penances.

Even in the terrible slander with which the Lord wanted to prove your faithfulness, you managed to repeat: “If God wants my mortification, why should I get out of his will? So do God, because I want only what God wants ”.

Illuminate, O Saint Gerard, our mind to understand the value of the mortification of the flesh and the heart; it strengthens our will to accept the humiliations that life presents us from time to time; impetraci from the Lord who, following your example, we know how to undertake and to run the narrow road that leads to heaven. Glory to the Father ...

O Saint Gerard, Jesus the Eucharist was for you the friend, the brother, the father to visit, love and receive in your heart.

At the Tabernacle your eyes have been fixed, your heart. You became the inseparable friend of the Eucharistic Jesus, until you spent whole nights at his feet. Since you were a child, you have desired it so ardently that you have obtained first communion from heaven from the hands of the archangel Saint Michael.

In the Eucharist you found comfort in the sad days. From the Eucharist, Bread of eternal life, you drew the missionary ardor to convert, if it were possible, as many sinners as there are grains of sea sand, the stars of heaven.

Glorious Saint, make us in love, like you, with Jesus infinite love.

For your ardent love for the Eucharistic Lord, let us, like you, know how to find in the Eucharist the necessary food that nourishes our soul, the infallible medicine that heals and strengthens our weak forces, the sure guide that alone can introduce us to the glorious vision of the sky. Glory to the Father ...
