Jimena regains her sight: the miracle that occurred at WYD in Lisbon

What we are about to tell you is the story of a miraculous healing that occurred during the World Youth Day in Lisbon in 2023, to a girl named Jimena.

Jimena had left from Madrid together with other young people and once I arrived in Portugal, during a Eucharistic celebration, something truly extraordinary happened to her.

Initially, perhaps, she couldn't believe it either. But when she realized really be able to see, couldn't hold back his joy and praise God.

Jimena, however, carried a much greater burden than her peers. From two years suffered from a serious eye disease calledspasm of accommodation“, which had left her almost blind.

According to what the young girl's father told the newspaper occur, this disease had affected the girl more intensely than its normal course. The treatments were becoming unbearable, he was in pain and felt disappointed because there were no results. And in order to concentrate on her studies she had decided, together with us parents, to suspend them until Christmas.

Jimena's prayers are answered

But something incredible was about to happen during that Youth day. His prayers had never stopped, as had his search for a doctor who could find a cure for his illness. But so far nothing had worked.

Until that Saturday, after an intense novena to the Madonna, Jimena had prayed with many other young people, also to ask for his healing. During Mass in the church of Nuestra Señora de la Luz in Évora de Alcobaça, Jimena stood in line to receive Holy Communion.

While she was sitting in the pew she started to to cry and he was afraid to open his eyes. When she finally opened them she could see everything very clearly. She saw the altar, the tabernacle, her friend sitting next to her. She finally had her sight back and was crying with joy. This also miracle, to be recognized he will have to follow the entire ecclesiastical process.
