The devotion that Jesus said to Santa Matilde

Praying for one person, Metilde received this answer: “I follow her constantly, and when she returns to me with penance, desire or love, I feel an unspeakable joy. For a debtor, there is no greater pleasure than receiving a gift rich enough to satisfy all his debts. Well, I have made myself, so to speak, a debtor to my Father, committing myself to satisfy for the sins of mankind; therefore nothing for me is more pleasant and desirable than seeing man return to me by means of penance and love ”.

Praying for an afflicted but ill-disposed person, Metilde felt at the same time a movement of indignation, because often she had made salutary grievances without obtaining any repentance. But the Lord said to her: "Come on, take part in my pain and pray for the miserable sinners. you bought them with a great price, therefore with immense ardor I desire their conversion".

Once, standing in prayer, Metilde saw the Lord covered in a bloody garment, and He said to her: "In that way that my Humanity covered with bloody wounds, lovingly presented itself to God the Father as a victim on the altar of the Cross; so in the same feeling of love I offer myself to Heavenly Father for sinners, and I represent to him all the tortures of my Passion: What I want most, is that the sinner with a sincere penance will convert and live".

Once, while Metilde offered God four hundred and sixty to Pater recited by the Community in honor of the Most Holy Wounds of Jesus Christ, the Lord appeared to her with outstretched hands and all the wounds open, and said: "When I was suspended on the Cross, each of the my wounds was a voice that interceded with God the Father for the salvation of men. Now again the cry of my wounds rises towards him in order to appease his anger against the sinner. I assure you, no beggar ever received alms with joy similar to that which I feel when I receive a prayer in honor of my wounds. I also assure you that no one will say with attention and devotion that prayer that you offered me, without setting yourself up for salvationâ ”.

Metilde went on: "My Lord, what intention must we have in reciting that prayer?"
He replied: “We must pronounce the words not only with the lips, but with the attention of the heart; and at least after every five Pater, offer it to me saying: Lord Jesus Christ, Son of the living God, accept this prayer with that extreme love for which you have endured all the wounds of your most sacred body: have mercy on me, on sinners and on all faithful living and deceased! Amen.
"Domine Jesu Christe, Fili Dei vivi, susipe hanc orationem in amore illa superexcellenti, in quo omnia vulnera tui nob ilissimi corporis sustinuisti, et miserere mei et omnium peccatorum, cunctorumque fidelium tam vivorum quam defunctorum".

The Lord said again: “As long as he remains in his sin, the sinner keeps me nailed to the Cross; but when he does penance, he immediately gives me freedom. And I, so detached from the Cross, I throw myself on top of him with my grace and my mercy, as I fell into Joseph's arms when he removed me from the gallows, so that he can do anything he wants with me. But if the sinner perseveres to death in his sin, he will fall into the power of my justice, and by this he will be judged according to his merit. "
