This month's devotion: the prayer to Saint Sebastian for graces

For that admirable zeal which led you to face all the dangers to convert the most stubborn infidels, and to conform the vacillating Christians in faith, so that not only Mark and Marcellian, who were already about to yield to the temptations, became your conquest, but still their whole family, or then the deputy prefect Cromazio with his brother Tiburzio, and the officers Castulo and Nicostrato, and Claudio the jailer with all his relatives, not that many others or prisoners and soldiers who soon confirmed with the their blood Christianity embraced through you, deh! implore us all, or always glorious martyr Sebastian, an equal commitment, an equal zeal for the health of our brothers, so that, not content with edifying them with a truly evangelical life, we still strive with every effort to enlighten them if they are ignorant, to correct them if strayed and reinvigorate them if weak

Glory be to the Father to the Son and to the Holy Spirit as it was in the beginning now and always for ever and ever.

For those sensational wonders, and the sudden light that shone in the hall of your meetings, or the appearance of the divine Redeemer who came down, courted by the Angels to give you the kiss of peace, and the speech returned to Zoe for a long time completely silent, not that of the health restored to all the sick neophytes who had recourse to you, obtained again all of us, o glorious martyr Sebastian, to always be animated by that faith and that charity that works the greatest wonders, in order to be then favored by divine assistance in all our needs.

Glory be to the Father to the Son and to the Holy Spirit as it was in the beginning now and always for ever and ever.

For that heroism with which you endured the pain of the arrows that made all your body miserable, or, miraculously kept alive, then detached from the gallows by the pious widow Irene, you reproached the barbarian Diocletian for his injustice and impiety, all of us, oh glorious martyr Sebastian, to bear always with joy the diseases, persecutions, and all the adversities of this miserable life, in order to participate for a few days in your glory in heaven, after having participated in your sufferings on earth .

Glory be to the Father to the Son and to the Holy Spirit as it was in the beginning now and always for ever and ever.
