The devotion recommended by Our Lady in her apparitions

The first Friday of the month .
It was the special desire of our Lord Jesus Christ, revealed to Blessed Margaret Mary, that on the first Friday of each month he should be consecrated to the devotion and adoration of his Sacred Heart.

To prepare better, it would be good to read some books that deal with this devotion, or the Passion of Our Lord, the evening before, and pay a short visit to the Blessed Sacrament. On the same day we should, upon awakening, offer and consecrate ourselves, with all our thoughts, words and actions, to Jesus, so that His Sacred Heart can be so honored and glorified.

We should visit some churches as soon as possible; and while we kneel before Jesus, truly present in the tabernacle, we try to awaken in our soul a deep pain at the thought of the countless offenses constantly piled up on His Most Sacred Heart in this Sacrament of His love; and surely we cannot find it difficult if we have the least degree of love for Jesus. We should, however, find our love to be cold or lukewarm, we seriously consider the many reasons we have to give our heart to Jesus. After this we must recognize with regret the faults we were guilty of for our lack of respect in the presence of the Blessed Sacrament, or for our negligence in visiting and receiving Our Lord in Holy Communion.

The communion of this day should be offered by the worshipers of the Sacred Heart with the intention of making some satisfaction for all the ingratitude that Jesus receives in the Blessed Sacrament, and the same spirit should animate all our actions during the day.

Since the object of this devotion is to inflame our hearts with an ardent love for Jesus, and thus to repair, as regards our power, all the outrages that are committed daily against the Blessed Sacrament of the Altar, it is evident that these exercises are not limited to a particular day. Jesus equally deserves our love at all times; and since this very loving Savior is every day and every hour laden with insults and cruelly treated by His creatures, it is only that we should strive every day to make reparation in our power.

Those who are prevented from practicing this devotion on the first Friday can do so on any other day of the month. In the same way they can offer the first Communion of each month for this intention, consecrating all day to the honor and glory of the Sacred Heart, and performing in the same spirit all the pious exercises that they were unable to perform on the first Friday.

Furthermore, Our Lord suggested another characteristic of this consoling devotion of the first Friday, through the faithful practice of which he guided Blessed Margaret Mary to expect the grace of final perseverance and that of receiving the sacraments of the Church before dying, in favor of those who should observe it It was a matter of making a novena of communions in honor of the Sacred Heart on the first Friday of the month for nine consecutive months.
