Indulgences granted with the Holy Rosary
An indulgence is the remission before God of temporal penalties due to sins whose guilt has already been forgiven, a remission, which the faithful properly disposed and under certain conditions, can acquire through the Church, which authoritatively dispenses.
An indulgence is PLENARY or PARTIAL, depending on whether it is free from the whole or part of the temporal punishment due to sin.
This means that a believer who, with at least a contrite heart, performs an exercise enriched by partial indulgence, is granted to him by the power of the Church that same sum of remission of the temporal punishment which he has already acquired from the work itself. In other words, the remission has doubled, and as often as the prescribed work is done. A plenary indulgence means the full remission of the time penalty, considering that other conditions are required, in addition to the exercise performed or said prayer.
Whenever the faithful recite a third part of the Rosary with devotion, they can obtain:
A plenary indulgence in usual conditions, if they do it for a whole month.
If they recite a third part of the Rosary in company with others, in public or in private, they can obtain:
A partial indulgence, once a day;
A plenary indulgence on the last Sunday of each month, with the addition of Confession, Communion and visit to a church, if they perform this recitation at least three times in any of the previous weeks.
However, if they recite this together in a family group, beyond the partial, they can get:
A plenary indulgence twice a month, if they perform this recitation, daily for a month, they go to Confession, receive Communion, and visit some church.
The faithful who daily recite a third part of the Rosary with devotion in a family group beyond the indulgences already granted in point 1. can also obtain a plenary indulgence on the conditions of Confession and Communion every Saturday, on two other days of the week, and at every feast of the Holy Virgin Mary of the Calendar: Immaculate Conception, Purification, the apparition of the Madonna in Lourdes, the Annunciation, the Seven Sorrows (Passion Friday), the Visitation, Madonna del Carmelo; Our Lady of the Snows, the Assumption, the Immaculate Heart, the Nativity of Mary, Our Lady of Sorrows, the Most Holy Rosary, the Motherhood of Mary, the Presentation of the Holy Virgin.
Those who devoutly recite a third part of the Rosary in the presence of the Blessed Sacrament, publicly exposed or even reserved in the tabernacle, as often as they do this, can obtain:
A plenary indulgence, in conditions of Confession and Communion.
The faithful who at any time of the year devoutly offer their prayers in honor of Our Lady of the Rosary, with the intention of continuing the same for 9 consecutive days, can obtain:
A partial indulgence once on any day of the novena;
A plenary indulgence under the usual conditions at the end of the novena.
The faithful who wish to perform a devout practice in honor of Our Lady of the Rosary for 15 uninterrupted Saturdays (or if they are prevented, for each Sunday immediately following) if they devoutly recite at least a third part of the Rosary or meditate on the mysteries in any other way, can get:
A plenary indulgence under the usual conditions on any of these 15 Saturdays, or corresponding Sundays.
The faithful who during the month of October recite at least a third part of the Rosary, either in public or privately, can obtain:
A partial indulgence every day;
A plenary indulgence, if they perform this practice on the Feast of the Rosary and throughout the Eighth, and in addition they confess, receive Communion and visit a church;
A plenary indulgence with the addition of Confession and Communion and visit to a church, if they perform this same recitation of the Rosary for at least 10 days after the Octave of the aforementioned Feast.
A partial indulgence can be obtained once a day by the faithful who kissing a blessed Rosary, which he brings with him, at the same time recites the first part of the Ave Maria up to "Jesus".
