The Madonna of Loreto and the history of the House that arrived in Loreto from Palestine

The story of the Madonna of Loreto

The story of the Madonna of Loreto is one of legends oldest and most fascinating nuns in Christian history. Loreto is a small town in the Marche region of Italy, and is also the site of the famous Sanctuary of the Holy House, where the miracle of the translation of the house of Mary, mother of Jesus, is said to have taken place.

Legend has it that the Mary's house, originally located in the city of Nazareth, in Palestine, was miraculously translated to prevent it from being destroyed during the Muslim invasions of Thirteenth century. According to legend, theArchangel Gabriel appeared to three shepherds of Loreto and invited them to go to Nazareth to take the house of the Virgin Mary and bring it to Italy, where it would become a sacred place of pilgrimage.

The initially skeptical residents of Loreto were surprised to find the small brick-and-mortar house on top of a hill in their town. The house, built in white stone, was identical to the original one of Nazareth, with the same dimensions and the same materials used in the construction.

Miracles

Every year thousands of faithful go to the sanctuary to ask for theintercession to Our Lady of Loreto. Most of Miracles attributed to you, concern the healings miracles of women, men and children. As far as children are concerned, the best known miracle is that which concerns the little one Lorenzo Rossi, cured of one bronchopneumonia.

Its history dates back to 1959, when now dying, the mother poured on his chest blessed oil which came from the sanctuary of the Holy House of Loreto and began to massage it. The child, as if by a miracle, began to breathe again and recovered definitively.

Another guy too Gerry de Angelis, in a coma, recovered when his father went to Loreto. Another miracle has as its protagonist Giacomina Cassani. Giacomina had a tumor in the left thigh. She lived in a pram and imprisoned in a corset. One day she was taken on a pilgrimage to Loreto where she, after a very strong pain, she felt a feeling of relief that accompanied her towards recovery.

Another miraculous event concerns a young man Bruno Baldini, involved in a motorcycle accident that caused him a serious injury brain injury such as to make him mute and with serious motor difficulties. One day after hearing a voice ordering him to go to Loreto, he went and on the same day of his arrival, he was able to walk and talk again.
