The promise of Jesus to Saint Geltrude for those who practice this devotion

Nobody can give me what's mine; know that if anyone devoutly recites this prayer, he will obtain the grace to know me better and, by the efficacy of the words he contains, he will attract upon himself and receive in his soul the splendor of the Divinity, like the one who, turning towards the sun a plate of pure gold, sees in it the radiance of the rays of light ".

Geltrude immediately proved the efficacy of this promise, because, having finished the prayer, she saw her soul invested by the divine light and felt, as never before, the sweetness of the knowledge of God.

(Jesus in Santa Gertrude)

Suddenly the Saint was kidnapped in ecstasy and when the Grace flooded her heart with sweet violence, she said the following inspired prayer:

O Life of my soul, may the affections of my heart absorbed by the fire of your love unite me intimately with You! May my heart remain lifeless, if it loved anything without you! Aren't you the one who gives beauty flowers, delightful flavors, perfume smells, harmony sounds, dearest affections, attractiveness and sweetness?

Yes, the most delightful enjoyments are found in Tea, the abundant waters of life gush forth from you, an irresistible enchantment attracts towards you, the soul is flooded with holy affections for you, for You are the unlimited abyss of Divinity!

O most worthy King of kings, or supreme Sovereign, Prince of glory, sweetest Master, almighty Protector, You are the life-giving pearl of human dignity, Creator of wonders, Counselor of infinite wisdom, generous help, most faithful Friend.

Those who join you taste the most chaste delights; receives the most tender caresses from You, who are the sweetest of friends, the most tender of hearts, the most affectionate of the spouses, the most chaste of lovers!

The spring flowers no longer smile if they are compared to you, the radiant flower of the splendor of God. O most amiable Brother, or Young man full of grace and strength, or infinitely dear Companion, generous guest, generous hotelier who serves your friends as if were many kings, I renounce all creatures to choose You alone!

For You I reject every pleasure, for You I overcome every opposition and, after having done everything for You, I don't want to be appreciated by anyone, but only by You!

I recognize, with my heart and my mouth, that you are the Author and the Conservator of all good. Drawing my poor heart in the fire that inflames your Divine Heart, I join my desires and my devotion to the irresistible force of your prayers, so that for this whole and divine union I will be led to the summit of the highest perfection, after having extinguished in me all the movements of the rebellious nature.

Geltrude saw that each of these aspirations shone like a pearl set in gold necklace.

The following Sunday, before Communion, attending Mass, he recited the above prayer with great devotion and saw that Jesus felt immense joy. Then he said to him: "O very beloved Jesus, since this petition is so welcome to you, I want to spread it and so many will be able to offer it in the manner of a golden jewel."

The Lord replied: “Nobody can give me what is mine; know that if anyone devoutly recites this prayer, he will obtain the grace to know me better and, by the efficacy of the words he contains, he will attract upon himself and receive in his soul the splendor of the Divinity, like the one who, turning towards the sun a plate of pure gold, sees in it the radiance of the rays of light ".

Geltrude immediately proved the efficacy of this promise, because, having finished the prayer, she saw her soul invested by the divine light and felt, as never before, the sweetness of the knowledge of God.
