Satan's tactic to stop your spiritual path

Satan's strategy is this: he wants to convince you to periodically interrupt the succession of good works. Before pushing you towards sin, you must detach yourself from God, and to detach yourself from God, you must sleepy prayer, prudence and the exercise of Christian virtues. With obstinacy stubborn satan presents the temptations of the flesh, especially greediness, laziness and lust. When he manages to unhinge your determined will, you begin to pray absentmindedly, the Mass becomes a passive presence and the communion a small piece of bread. Thus begin the ancient fragility to resurface as for example. criticism, murmuring, wasting time, laziness, jealousy, envy, greed of glances, awakening passions, and above all, begin to relive your self-love. For a certain period of time of your resistance, fragility manifests itself in an almost imperceptible, but constant form, so you do not realize in the least that you are losing blows in perseverance for good. Since they are very small things almost imperceptible, you have the impression that they are bagatelle: voluntary distractions in prayer (the involuntary ones do not invalidate prayer), unnecessary worries, lightness in looking at people who call you the pleasure of meat without being real temptations and your own, refinement in food, prolonged sleep, easy language out of proportion, elegance in dress, exuberance in behavior, exchange of sympathy with people who certainly do not transmit Christian virtues to you, listlessness, apathy and cold openness to everything you like. For a long time you don't realize that these imperceptible things are crumbling your spiritual life. It is pleasant for all of us to slip into this world where there are many frailties, but Satan packs them in small doses. Weak and distracted prayer slowly awakens those passions against which you have fought with courage and determination, love for God and neighbor goes away very slowly. Anger against those who hurt you becomes instinctive and violent, lust appears more and more natural and less and less to condemn. If you don't want to fall into this trap you must keep the rhythm of daily prayer, the contemplation meditation always done well and the exercise of Christian virtues. You will persevere until the end in love for God and neighbor, and you will always live serene and in joy, you will never go back, you will never go further, you will go up to Heaven where Someone is waiting for you.
